„When one wishes to add life and light to the branches when they appea…”
„When one wishes to add life and light to the branches when they appear withered, and no longer captivate the heart with their charm and splendor, one must direct the foundation of the addition — the reinforcement of added strength and blessing — at the highest, most original source, from whose power all the branches draw their life. And this quality proceeds through all the styles, all the levels, and all the values.”From Shemonah Kevatzim VIII, 3
When the leaves of a tree begin to wither, we do not pour water and remedies on the leaves, but rather treat the root of the tree. So too in our lives. When we feel difficulty or pain, we must descend to its root, and treat it from there. And this holds true at every stage and in every detail, in the life of the individual and in the life of the community.
