„The great love with which we love our nation shall not blind our eyes from seeing all its blemishes; yet even after the most free-spirited criticism, it is clean of every blemish. 'You are wholly beautiful, my love, and there is no blemish in you!'”From Orot Yisrael IV, 3

Our love for the homeland is a love without limit. And like those in love, we need not be ashamed that we sometimes lose ourselves in it. Lovesickness. This does not contradict the capacity for criticism and complexity. But as in a true love — the sense of belonging and the love itself are what will heal the blemishes. Happy Independence Day!
