„The heart is in turmoil and the pain immense over the slain of our holy brethren who fell at the hands of murderers; but in the end, even from this blow a healing balm will be prepared, and the sacred adage, 'In your blood, live,' will be fulfilled here many times over.”From Igrot, 107

On the long road that the people of Israel travel, we also know moments of anguish and sorrow. Sometimes the source of the anguish is wars and terror attacks. Sometimes its source is in conceptions and evil spirits that bind the hands of our soldiers in the name of a hollow global 'justice' that has mercy on the cruel and is cruel to the merciful. From the individual perspective there is no greater anguish than death. From the general perspective, as a nation, we must bring about a change in the rules of engagement. I am not writing politics here but words of outlook. Rav Kook, who was a man of peace and goodness, who would not harm even an ant, held an unequivocal doctrine when facing terrorists of the axis of evil: 'Inflict as many casualties upon them as possible!' Let us all pray for the parents and family of Barel, and for the whole people of Israel.
