„There is one who wishes to be a completely righteous person, and ever…”
„There is one who wishes to be a completely righteous person, and every moral blemish, and every light sin, is felt within him as a wall separating him from his Father in Heaven, and because of this he is liable to fall and grow distant. And one must always take heed that 'the Lord is near to all who call upon Him.'”From Shemonah Kevatzim, Kovetz VII, section 85
Sometimes a person aspires to mend his ways and to be the very best there is, to be righteous. It is a wonderful feeling when a person succeeds, but small falls may become an immense obstacle for such a person, who is liable to feel like a failure and a good-for-nothing with every fall.
We must not forget that the Holy One desires our success; we must not despair!
A pleasant day!
