Parashat Emor
„The great unity... transforms all the individual inclinations and their deeds into good and holiness.”From Shemonah Kevatzim III, 32
Parashat Emor paints a world of levels. Priest, High Priest, Israelite, purity and impurity, wholeness and deficiency. Holiness is not uniform but built of different levels, each with its precise role and demand. Precisely out of this hierarchy it is revealed that the more a person truly ascends, the more his holiness is not private, and it begins to act upon the surroundings and to influence. Truly righteous people succeed in lifting up their surroundings by their very existence. They are so good that the world becomes good by the very fact of their being.
