„The truly righteous must be natural people, in whom all the natural traits of body and soul exist in a state of life and health. Then, in their exaltation, they are able to elevate the world and all that exists along with them.”From Shemonah Kevatzim, II, 33
In Rav Kook's writings there are all kinds of tzaddikim (righteous ones). Whoever studies his writings finds plain tzaddikim, and alongside them pure tzaddikim, supernal tzaddikim, and more... Here the Rav speaks of the 'truly righteous.' It follows (so according to my teacher and rabbi, Rav Re'em HaCohen shlita) that there are also those called tzaddikim whose level is in fact the opposite.
The truly righteous person is a connected person. A person alive and healthy in soul and body. When this health is part of the tzaddik's daily life, the whole world is elevated along with him. The insights of one's entire private life are elevated into a life of spirit and into a spiritual leadership that includes within it daily life itself.
