„Even at the moment when we stand upon the recognition of the world's hatred that is set against us from all the Hamans of all the generations, and at the moment when we are filled with love for all our rescuers and defenders - for all the Mordechais of all the times... even then we ponder within ourselves petty victories of one faction against another faction, one party against another party.”From Iggeret HaPurim
We know that there is a hatred of the world toward us, and there are those who stand up to defend us. But even within this clarity, even at the moment when the historical and Divine reality is revealed with intensity, we continue to think in narrow terms of faction against faction and party against party. The current of life causes us to take the trivial and to cast away the essential. Instead of seeing the power of a united Israel and the covenant that drives history, we reduce everything to a struggle. To rise to the greatness of the hour is to understand how small these reckonings are!
