Know What Is Above You
„How cruel is man to himself, that he sinks into the darkness of life, burdening himself with many calculations, while the life of life, the delight that is the foundation of life, he causes to be forgotten from his heart.”From Middot HaRe'iyah, Ahavah 4
A person lives out of a simple bond with the One who gives him life. A connection to the source of life itself, to the One above us. But the soiling of life causes us to devote ourselves to troubles, to calculations, to occupations and worries, and to forget the One above us. To forget our parents, thanks to whom we are in this world, and the Holy One... And in human nature we load upon ourselves more and more troubles, some of them real, some "invented" and inflated to great dimensions only to fill consciousness and time and to silence the connection to our source. The moment a person stops loading calculations upon himself and returns to look upward, a return becomes possible to that inner flame, a love that fills a person with light, gentleness and joy. For "no measure can describe their pleasantness and sweetness."
