„One who wishes to guard the tranquility of his soul should beware of…”
„One who wishes to guard the tranquility of his soul should beware of any speech that appears as coarseness of spirit.”From Shemonah Kevatzim, II:206
The power of speech is a mighty force. In its hands lies the power to topple and to build worlds. "Life and death are in the hand of the tongue."
Like many forces in life, we must not withhold ourselves from the powers within us, but rather elevate them and use them rightly. Curses, coarse and wicked speech, slander, talk of hatred - these are words that create injuries and blemishes in the world and within the depths of a person's soul. The more we take care with our speech, the more our world - inner and outer - will appear and become better.
