„Just as a healthy person desires life and does not seek reasons and proofs for this, while one who is ill with sickness of the soul, who is close to taking his own life, is beset by doubts about the purpose of life, so too one of a healthy soul loves the Torah and its inquiries with heart and soul, and a single matter of the Torah, even of the fine points of the scribes, is more precious to him than all wealth; and only when the psychic foundation has fallen ill does he come to say, 'this teaching is pleasing and that one is not pleasing.'”From Orot HaTorah VI, 10

The Torah is meant to be natural for us. Love of the Torah is something for which the heart, by its nature, should yearn. But when we become sullied or fall, doubt begins to seep in, and love may be marred and even vanish. In recent years, thank God, the return of the love of Torah has been intensifying. Alongside amplified voices of hatred, acts of love multiply, and more and more brothers and sisters from every part of Israeli society fall in love with the heritage and the tradition. This is a tremendous and special repair, repentance out of love and not out of fear.
