„Weakness of will, which comes from constant immersion in repentance,…”

„Weakness of will, which comes from constant immersion in repentance, even though it is a physical and psychic weakness that requires healing, nevertheless contains much refinement and nobility, which purifies the spirit, and over all its transgressions love shall cover.”From Shemonah Kevatzim IV, 51

There are moments in which the will grows weak precisely out of a constant search for repentance and repair. We try so hard and exert ourselves so much that our strength gives out, and life fills with weakness. The weakness indeed requires healing and a renewal of strength, but it itself refines the spirit and prepares a deeper will that connects to its divine source. Within the weakness a possibility for new growth is born, and it is love that covers the wound and returns us to life.
