„Just as the praise of the Holy One [rises from every place]...”
„Just as the praise of the Holy One [rises from every place]...”From Shemonah Kevatzim II, 226
Not everything do we understand. There are fractures, contradictions, moments in which reality is hard and cruel. But in a supernal view there is a purpose to everything in our world. Tu B'Av teaches us that the whole world belongs to love. Not emotional or temporary love, but a supernal love, of the Holy One, blessed be He, that sees even the wicked and the suffering as part of a deep repair. When we remove the mask of this world from our eyes, and clothe everything in white, we meet for a moment another world. This is not a view through which one can live in our world, but through it one can influence and change the world. The righteous, Rav Kook writes, know how to see the future already within the present, and to live the present in the light of the future. They revive the world with faith that all will be sweetened, elevated, and sanctified. And this is true love: not only for the one who shines, but also for the one who is still in darkness. Not only for what is understood, but also for what causes pain. Because in the end, all is love.
