Humility

„And from the wellspring of humility come will and holiness. A full contentment of spirit reigns in the world; pleasant, mighty hopes encircle and penetrate everything. And throughout the universe life is blessed with happiness, and all is beloved.”From Sh"K (Shemonah Kevatzim), V, 25

When what leads us in life is humility, the will leads toward the good. Holiness appears, and life is pleasant and full of contentment. When pride leads us, anger conquers our lives and fills them, and we become external to our own inwardness. Our achievements become an end in themselves rather than a path to the good. The foundation of our will, and the care that it be positive and good and rooted in truth, is the path to success.
