We Must Love
„We must love one another, not with a love that is only in order to fulfill our duty to society, but with a true love befitting brothers, sons of one father in the fullest sense.”From Te'udat Yisrael u'Le'umiyuto
We continue to deal with love, in the month of Av. The Rav explains in the essay "Te'udat Yisrael u'Le'umiyuto" (The Mission of Israel and Its Nationhood) that love is not only by virtue of the fact that one must love one's fellow creatures, but a love of brothers. A real belonging and personal building through the astonishing bond that we have to our people. A bond whose durability is significant for our existence, a bond that is oxygen for us just as faith in the Holy One is oxygen for us.
