„And if we were destroyed, and the world with us, through baseless hat…”

„And if we were destroyed, and the world with us, through baseless hatred, we shall return and be rebuilt, and the world with us will be rebuilt, through baseless love.”From Shemonah Kevatzim VIII, 47

This well-known statement is important and deep every year, but it seems to me that in this year its meaning is unique and many times deeper. Hatred destroys, division destroys, an enemy destroys. And the way to build and to be rebuilt is by the way opposite to the way of hatred. It is by taking the emotion and the belonging on account of which we were destroyed – for we used the negative within them – alongside the positive. And to be rebuilt from the belonging, and to build out of love.
