Personal Repair - Repair of the World
„The refinements by which I refine myself - my thoughts, my ideas, my traits, and my feelings - they will be refinements encompassing the whole world. A person is obligated to say: for my sake the world was created.”From Shemonah Kevatzim II:78
When we repair ourselves, passing through the "matters of life" that refine and purify us, the whole world advances. The saying "for my sake the world was created" is not a saying of arrogance, but of responsibility. When we are better, the world is better. And, God forbid, when we are less good, the world is less good. And the more we understand that the repair we effect within ourselves lifts up both us and the whole world, the more meaningful and profound it becomes.
