„And all that we see - that there are people who profess love of Israe…”
„And all that we see - that there are people who profess love of Israel while their heart is far from the Torah, from its study and its observance - it is because their love is still unripe.”From Orot HaTechiyah 23
Why divide? Why try to attack other communities? Rav Kook explains the problematic outlook that sometimes exists among us not as fruit born of despair, but as fruit that has not yet ripened. One who tries to divide and attack us from within has often failed to understand the meaning of the greatness of the people of Israel. And why does it matter to define them? Because if it is fruit born of despair, one would ostensibly have to discard such fruit. But if it is unripe fruit, here there is a need for patience, for containment, for love, and for time.
