Have you ever thought about what would have happened if the people of Israel had not left Egypt? If we had been a nation like all the nations, without Torah, without the Land of Israel, without the splitting of the Sea and all the things that shape us as a people?

The people of Israel could easily have been a nation of slaves. A nation that for years upon years serves another people and is meant to please its masters. The joining together of the individuals who were in Egypt into a people, the leadership of Moshe and Aharon, and the receiving of the Torah constituted the foundation for the people of Israel and for the Jewish people.

That generation, which made great strides, created for us the possibility of forging our link in the chain. A link that is also immensely important. The ascent to the Land of Israel from all corners of the earth, the establishment of the State of Israel and its transformation into a wonderful state. The foundation of God's throne in the world.
