Shushan Purim
„Precisely through these upheavals of ours we come to feel that we possess... a great national soul from which we had turned our attention, and it is full of strength and has the power to set us on our feet, to renew our life as in days of old, and also to stand against all kinds of Amalekites who so wish to cut down our stragglers.”From Essay 'Ad deLo Yada'
The blows we receive, the fact that we stand out so much to the surrounding world that tries to harry us, to destroy and defame us, and in every generation to annihilate us - emphasize the uniqueness of the Jewish people. The might and power that the world sees and so wishes to extinguish. The might of unity is the might that can overcome all our enemies, and the descent into division is what opens the gate for them.
