A Generous Eye

„In the light of the resurrection of the dead, envy is removed at its root. The absolute lot of each individual is then clarified, and he sees his happiness in its fullness in the portion of his cup.”From Shemonah Kevatzim VII:20

When the world is repaired, envy will disappear. The repair of the trait of envy is a repair encompassing all of reality - a reality that allows each person to focus on himself and not to look at others. One who succeeds in doing this in his life already today, and removes from himself envy and rivalry with his surroundings, is a truly joyful person - one who has no sadness of body and soul on account of environmental factors, but whose daily victory lies in setting personal challenges. And this is a reality of people with a truly generous eye, which is the opposite of envy. Seek out these rare people in your surroundings; they are the hope of the future.
