„It is fitting for a person to rejoice in his life, for thus the Lord set the measure of joy engraved in the soul of man, because from it issue the radiance of wisdom and the uprightness of deeds. The means to the soul's joy is the sensation of the majesty and beauty of all creation.”From Ein Ayah, Berachot 7:44
In the period we are in now, when nature "rejoices with full mouth," the soul expands from the beauty. And this expansion and the joy it brings is a very important part of our ability to continue our lives in moments of abundance and moments of crisis. The Temple, the dwelling place of God, is a place where we were commanded regarding external beauty. So too our Land is praised specifically for its beauty. We must rejoice, we must enjoy, we must see good, so that we can continue to radiate good abundance. And this is fitting and proper specifically in hard and gray days.
