Attentiveness

„When the accounting of the soul is not a thing forgotten by a person, then he shakes off the wickedness from himself, little by little, before it has managed to become such a great heap upon him that he cannot lift his head.”From Shemonah Kevatzim I:607

A person is a human being, and falls are part of our life, each according to his level and rank. The best way to guard ourselves is to remember the evil of the falls. For this reason prayer contains the confession and the need for solitude. The attentiveness we give to the times in which we fall, even if they are frequent, gives us the strength to cope and to change. And thus a heap of failures does not pile up in our life; rather we take note of the marks we miss, and aspire to repair.
