„The 6th of Shevat, Parashat Beshalach:”

„The 6th of Shevat, Parashat Beshalach:”

In this week's portion the people of Israel leave Egypt. It begins a long and difficult journey and changes its character from one extreme to the other, in a root treatment that affected its entire future and ours. Our becoming a people and the wilderness journey that begins in this portion is the comprehensive root treatment we underwent as a nation. The tree's leaves were then treated through the roots of the tree and not through water poured over them. In moments of extremity, when we see that our leaves are withered, that we are weary and searching for a way, that is a time for deep change and not another external change. To treat with the depth required, in order to revive us anew.
