The Purifying Heresy

Part of the nature of the world, and part of the mighty power that is in divinity, is the use of all parts of existence in order to advance the world. Thus heresy illuminates the dark corners of belief, and constantly demands their advancement and scouring. Great questions are asked, and the good and hard among them shake our world, and create a deeper and broader clarification, and advance the world to a better place. The way of scouring is hard, and the clarifications are liable to be terrible and very painful - but the Rav's repeated emphasis is the meaning of the perpetual repair that a person and the world undergo.
