We Have Merited!

In these hard days, it is important that we remember — alongside the immense pain over every fallen and slain one — that we are fighting for the revival of our land. With head held high, with fortitude of soul! The beauty and strength of our soldiers on the battlefield are illuminated now. And so too the strength of the people of Israel and its allies against the evil in the world. The Rav writes at the beginning of the previous century; we did not yet have a state then, and the Rav describes the young Israelite in his aspiration, at the beginning of his national path. In contrast to the hard and terrible days of the first half of the previous century, we now fight in our land, for our land — as soldiers and warriors. Advancing and prevailing!
