Redemption of Captives
„Prevail and exert yourselves, please, all of you, dear brothers, with all your capacity and beyond your capacity, for the sake of saving the holy souls, the chosen of our splendid children. Hasten, please, to fulfill the holy duty that Supernal Providence has placed upon us.”From Keruzei HaRe'iyah
Rav Kook writes this proclamation as the Chief Rabbi of the Land of Israel, and it is directed toward raising funds for the rescue of Jews who were abducted in Russia. His call then holds true now as well, and it is fitting that our hearts and souls be with the hostages at all times — in prayer for their return, in active efforts for their release, and in concern that the whole world not forget. With all our capacity and beyond our capacity. When more than 240 of our brethren, among them small children, the elderly, women and men, are in the hands of the enemy.
"May the Omnipresent have mercy on them and bring them out from distress to relief. Now." Now!
