Between Yom Kippur and Sukkot
„Through the ascent of Yom Kippur one becomes very distant from this world, and one needs protection when encountering the matters of this world, from every obstacle; and those days between Yom Kippur and Sukkot were given for the education of returning to the matters of this world.”From Shemonah Kevatzim 7:128
Yesterday we dealt with one aspect of these special days. The Rav adds that these are days on which "sins are not counted" — that is, there is a kind of understanding of the possible crash from a supernal reality to a lower reality, and therefore these are days on which the supernal educational conception envelops the person and understands the storm of his spirit and body. And as part of this comes the festival of Sukkot, which connects us to this world — to nature, to fruit, to branch and leaf.
