Shabbat (T)Shuvah

This Shabbat, a moment before Yom Kippur, alongside Parashat "Ha'azinu," we read in the haftarah: "Return, O Israel, unto the Lord your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity." And there is here a call to the people of Israel to listen and to return. And this is the way to repair: to listen, to understand the sources of the falls and rises in our lives, and to return and repair. The Rav explains in Ein Ayah that part of the way is to understand the foundations of our falls. And thus, to find the best way to cope with them — which will bring repair in the next coping, or at least an effort that can advance us.
