Rav Kook's Sayings / The Union of Opposites

„The supernal righteous... will be the unifying channels, through which the abundance of the light of the soul (nefesh) will pass from left to right, and the abundance of the light of the spirit (ruach) from right to left.”From Orot HaTechiyah 43

In the giant body called "the people of Israel" there are different forces that influence and balance one another. Forces of soul and forces of spirit. Realist forces and humanist forces. Forces with feminine qualities and forces with masculine qualities. Forces of chaos (tohu) and forces of repair (tikkun). Forces of the right and forces of the left. A supernal righteous one is he who is able to balance these forces, to bring them to one place and to give each one its place.
