Mishpetei HaRav Kook / One People
„Let go of anger; train yourselves to look upon one another — man upon his brother, faction upon faction — with the eyes of compassionate brothers, placed together in great distress, and ready to unite for one holy purpose: the help of the entire collective.”From Ma'amrei HaRe'iyah, p. 365
In the 75 years of the State of Israel, and in the thousands of years before it, we have known many harsh and painful disputes. Rav Kook speaks of the importance of dispute, of the exchange of opinions and thoughts, and, on the other hand, of the divine truth in which he believed and which he taught. But one thing threaded through the Rav's statements — the need to see, beyond the private and personal self, the various needs, and by this way to grow. To remember, even when we do not agree, that we are one people.
