Mishpetei HaRav Kook / Shining a Countenance
„When a person strengthens his spirit toward the good... he thereby strengthens... the good in all of existence as a whole.”From Shemonah Kevatzim I, 166
When we succeed in living our lives in a positive way, all of reality rises a level. We ourselves rise, of course, from the standpoint of the good of life and the shining countenance we shine upon ourselves. Our surroundings rise from the standpoint of the shining countenance we shine upon them. And the whole world is illumined as a result of our good, in whose wake we and our surroundings are happier and better.
