„The more a person cleaves to their Creator and is girded with the trait of trust in God, the more it befits them to display their carefulness and diligence.”From Ein Ayah, Shabbat 192
In the wondrous portion of the week appears a verse so relevant to the generation of redemption: "Beware lest you forget... and you say in your heart, 'My strength and the might of my hand have made me this wealth,' but you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you strength to make wealth." We are warned not to think that the toil of our hands alone brought about the amazing results present in our land, and to remember the Creator of the world. To this command the Rav adds an asterisk, explaining that we must be careful lest the trait of trust and the knowledge that "all is from above" cause us to stand with folded arms. Rather, we must remember that the Holy One is responsible for everything, and we are His agents.
