„The power of the imagination is a gift of God, and when it is joined…”

„The power of the imagination is a gift of God, and when it is joined to the greatness of the intellect and the power of estimation, the depth of morality, and the naturalness of feeling — the divine — it becomes an instrument for the holy spirit.”From Shemonah Kevatzim VI, 128

The power of imagination is a gift. In our childhood we play with imagination and are very fruitful with it. Over the years the imagination may be extinguished by those who fear it and its powers, and by those who wish to turn everything into a tool for their mission. The Rav did not fear this wondrous power, and called for connecting it to the intellect, to morality, and to holiness. In this connection, the imagination can build real worlds of holiness and mend the world.
