„If you aspire to the source of the Torah, rise up and gird yourself toward that loftiness that beats within your spirit, with all your talk and musing, with all your spiritual and material burden that has been laid upon you. Be a man of valor, and look straight ahead toward the light that is revealed to you from between the lattices.”From Shemonah Kevatzim 8:7

A good week.

The eve of Hoshana Rabbah, a moment before Simchat Torah, at its conclusion and at its renewed beginning, is a most important time for making decisions.

This day is also called the "Day of the Seal," since on it a person's judgment is sealed, and until it is sealed one can still make a change in the verdict.

In this passage the Rav writes that a person who desires Torah must "go for it," to invest in his decision, to rejoice in it, to gird his strength and enter within.

May we all merit to draw close to the Holy One, blessed be He, this year out of goodness and out of abundance; may we merit to receive Torah day by day in joy and in true greatness.

A good year.
