„Sin causes a person to be afraid of his own thought, and therefore he…”
„Sin causes a person to be afraid of his own thought, and therefore he does not delve much into the supreme concepts. And the more a person distances himself from sin, so his fear of thought diminishes, and he is able to rise into boundless expanses and into matters that stand at the height of the world, in his conceptions.”From Shemonah Kevatzim 1:56
When a person is steeped in sin he dares less. Sin places a screen before the person, both because of the fact that it blurs the straight vision that a person must cleave to, and because of the fact that the person is aware that he has missed his mark.
When a person succeeds in mastering his deeds and advancing in his struggles against sins, he dares more, he fears less, and he can reach mighty places both in thought and in deed.
Have a pleasant rest of the day, everyone!
For the recovery of Amit ben Michal.
