„In normal times we feel within us the boldness of public proclamation…”

„In normal times we feel within us the boldness of public proclamation: let all who come into the world, who walk in the lands of the living, know that we have an eternal light and that from us come rays with which and through which to illuminate land and streets.”

When the people of Israel dwell securely, the light of the Chanukah candles shines outward, and the miracle is proclaimed before all the world. The light of the people of Israel is a positive light, a light from which the world receives a good abundance.

Thank God that we have merited that the light of our candles is illuminated today outward, and we need not conceal the light of the candles.
