„How much I must fight against myself. To hold to an inner faith in the greatness of my soul. And this greatness has no connection to deeds; it is great in itself, by virtue of its own inherent quality (segulah).”From Chadarav, p. 24
The segulah (special quality) of Israel is the understanding that there is something within us unconnected to anything. Unconnected to what we eat and how we speak and what we do or do not do. We have a title that resides within us unconnected to anything. A title of honor of the children of kings. This title of course obligates; this title does not place us in a position where we may belittle those who lack such a title. But it is important that we remember that it is always there. Even in our difficult moments and in our hard falls.
