Connecting Between Worlds
„The supreme divine quality within a person... gives the innermost intensity to all the drives of life.”From LeMahalach HaIde'ot BeYisrael
Our lives have a powerful engine. We do not see it, but we feel when it is running and when it collapses. When this engine pulses, when it is connected, then all the parts synchronize: intellect and emotion, deed and spirit, national identity and inner longing. There is vitality and there is movement. But when this connection is severed, when the heart is sealed and life proceeds only technically, or when the spirit takes over in a fanciful way and detaches from reality – the problems begin. Precisely the connection between the worlds of spirit and matter, and not their separation, is Judaism's message to the world. And the more this connection is undermined, the more the message itself grows dim.
