Continuing Redemption
„Moses and Elijah are redeemers for one redemption; the one who begins and the one who completes, the one who opens and the one who seals, together they fill out the whole.”From Orot Yisrael UTechiyato 28
The redemption from Egypt and the future redemption are not separate events, but one continuing process. Moses opened the redemption long ago in Egypt and in the journey to the promised land, and Elijah seals it as the herald of the future redemption; the two together fill out the wholeness of the process. They remind us that redemption is not merely a final destination, but an active journey that is already taking place at every moment. In our own day, we can draw inspiration from that vision: to see how every small action joins into a great and immense fabric, of all the generations, and in this way the redemption draws near and continues.
