The Place of Evil
„If there were in the world only good scents, which are found in the beautiful flowers and the good fruits that give off a good fragrance, and there were no foul odor in the world at all, a person would not be able to bear the sweetness of the good scent... and so it is with opinions and character traits.”From Rishon LeYafo, 89
The evil in our world emphasizes and brings to expression the good. It is needed in order to emphasize and clarify the good, and at times like the lees that ferment the wine. We can push evil aside, repair it, but we cannot make it disappear. And the understanding that evil has a part in the advancement of the world is both a consolation and a hope. For there is a Master to the palace, and there is a way. Until the coming of the Messiah and the repair of the world.
