To Add Light
„But however much a person flees from the shadow, the shadow pursues him, and there is only one remedy to be rid of it, and that is adding light.”From Derech HaTechiyah
When we analyze "the situation" only through the eyes of analytical logic, despair is liable to prevail. There is within faith an ability to connect to something higher than the rational, and this connection is not a flight from life, but a connection to a higher life. Today we know, according to research, that the best way to cope with sadness is joy – even when it is disconnected. And this is true for all areas of our life: the best way to be rid of shadows is not in ceaselessly occupying oneself with them, on the one hand, or in fleeing from them, on the other, but in adding light!
