To Be Faithful

„First of all, to arouse ourselves to be faithful to ourselves; let us shake ourselves free of all self-denial, and know how to defend, with pride, our complete character.”From Ma'amrei HaRe'iyah, 171

An essential and primary part of our ability to advance is to be faithful to ourselves. Not to deny our ability to prevail, to repair, to be better. Thus we will truly be able to bless, to hope for, and to fulfill "let the year and its curses end, let the year and its blessings begin," and to repair ourselves, our surroundings, and the world. And this is true for each and every one of us as individuals, and for all of us as a nation, as a people, and as a state.
