Rosh Chodesh Elul

„The general repentance, which is the elevation of the world and its repair, and the individual repentance, which pertains to the particular selfhood of each and every one... they are together – one content.”From Orot HaTeshuvah IV, 3

The month of Elul has begun – how much we need Elul now. And a moment before we think about the repair that the other must do in order for it to be better here, it is worth internalizing that our individual repentance, of each and every one of us, is the way to repair the world. Let us repair ourselves, let us shine our lights, and the world will return and shine upon us all with a sun of righteousness and healing, and in a general repair.
